There's a whole lot to discover hiking in the Salzkammergut in spring, with its lakes, rocky crags and mountain peaks. Here are some hiking tips for getting active in the mild spring weather:

• Illinger-Alm-Circular trail
  Hike and learn about the vegetation of the Salzkammergut at the same time. Hike through the dreamlike alpine landscape in the area of the Zwölferhorn.

• Ruperti Pilgrimage Trail
  Escape from everyday cares and take some time out for yourself. The St. Rupert Pilgrimage Trail gives you the opportunity to slow down and enjoy being in the moment.

• The pilgrims' path
  From Fürberg near St. Gilgen, a historic path once used by pilgrims leads over the Falkenstein and the village of Ried to St. Wolfgang. This cultural trail is comprised of 24 signposted experience points and is the only one of its kind in Europe.

Go hiking once around Lake Wolfgang. Once a year, the Lake Wolfgang Run also takes place on this 27 km-long route, in which thousands of runners take part. Unlike the runners in October, you have the opportunity to take a break at any time, let your gaze wander over the glittering lake and sun yourself at leisure on a bench.
